This article is not talking about eating food on an ordinary day but when it relates to wedding and photography.
Meet the foodie
Are you a foodie like me and you appreciate great cuisine when you see one? I attended a wedding last year and trust me, the choice of food was superb, it was that type of food you wish you could pack up some and take home because everything was well prepared and very appealing to the taste buds. So after that wedding, I came across a blog post where I saw the food photography of the wedding I attended. It was beautifully captured, the light effect was well coordinated and I found out it was captured by a wedding photographer Surrey.
How does this relate?
When I read comments about the blog post, do you know that majority of the persons that left a comment wanted the contact of the wedding photographer Surrey. Yes they did and it was not only because he took an amazing shot of the wedded couple but the food photography got everyone hooked with him. If the image was blurry or a bit dull, or rather too bright, no one would have appreciated it but because the photograph was clear, so it made the food so inviting like we could eat it from the picture.
The food effect
Not everyone likes to eat much but everyone appreciates a well cooked meal, so when you are able to get tongues salivating for food through images, you are definitely a good photographer and that wedding photographer Surrey knew the effect food has on people and he used it to his advantage. A simple clear defined picture of the food served at that wedding got him a lot of job offers.
What does this amount to?
Nothing is less important, in case you are a wedding photographer as well and you want people to differentiate your work and appreciate it beyond capturing images of the couple and their guests at the wedding, look for something to capitalize on, it could be the flowers, it could be the vases, it could be your concept or arrangement, it could be the wedding cake and it could also be those moments you capture when no one is taking note. I usually say that the best pictures are the ones taken at random.
All it takes is creativity and capitalizing on opportunities and those little things that people would ordinarily ignore. The amazing fact about this wedding photographer Surrey is that I actually saw him at the wedding taking so much photographs of the food and at that time, my friends and I concluded he didn’t know his job well enough; that he was supposed to focus more on the couple and the guests that he was paid to capture than waste time capturing the different cuisine that were served but we were ignorant and that strategy paid off for him.
He certainly did his job quite well, the couple were impressed with the output of everything and I heard he delivered the project on time after the wedding. So dear reader, take a cue from this article and apply it to your job whether you are a photographer or not, then come back later to thank me.
